If you ride your snowmobile in deep powder and mountain conditions, you’ll want to consider a mountain snowmobile track. These tracks are manufactured in longer lengths which provide the flotation you need and they feature a taller lug / tread height which can range from 2 inches all the way up to 3.2 inches.
Due to the size of a mountain track you need to make sure your sled has the horsepower to turn the track and make sure your snowmobile can accommodate the taller lug / tread height. Also, you’re not going to want to spend much time on hard packed snow with a mountain track.
Note, always remember that before choosing the snowmobile track type, you need to know what size snowmobile track will fit your sled. This size criteria includes the track length, width, lug or tread height and pitch. If you don’t know what size your sled takes, you can either visit our snowmobile track fitment guides OR contact us by email via our contact form or call the store at (607) 693-1031 M-F 10am to 4pm EST. If you call after those hours leave a voicemail and we will call you back.
